Bound to get the message through

Wrapping a person up in black tape might seem a risque look for one of the world’s most recognised brands, but that’s exactly what WANTED did for Panasonic and their latest Product Launch. Inheriting the event theme, ‘Unleash your senses’, from Panasonic’s global head office I was tasked with concepting and producing a short video which would introduce the theme to up to 700 guests at each of the dozen shows that Panasonic delivers to it’s trade Clients.
Unleash your senses is Panasonic’s way of saying that their entire suite of products – extending from rice cookers, breadmakers and fridges, through to heat pumps, washing machines and shavers, and further to the cameras, audio systems and stunning display screens they’re so well known for – is engineered to reward their customers’ senses of taste, smell, touch, hearing and sight. Additionally, more and more Panasonic products employ what could be described as a sixth sense to further enhance performance and customer satisfaction.
This is a pretty significant message to get across to an audience but what would it look like as a conference opener video???
As with many WANTED projects, I quickly reasoned that video is not the appropriate medium to carry the detail of the message. The various Product Manager presenters would do that admirably.

What I needed to do was build some intrigue, interest and discussion around the theme.

Essentially, a sit-down-and-check-this-out clip.
Everyone seems to agree, it’s a video that engages the audience and starts conversations. Just what the Client wanted.
